Jobs, Small Business, Farms, and Schools
Good jobs, strong farms and small businesses, and schools that give our kids a fair shot.
I built a small business here from nothing, so I know what it takes and what gets in the way. The engines of this district are our small businesses, our farms, our tourism economy, and the schools that prepare the next generation. Washington should be clearing the path, not blocking it.
Small Business and Jobs
Stop the 67 percent cut to the Small Business Administration and restore the programs small employers count on.
Stand up a national small-business incubator system through the SBA to help new businesses start and grow, especially in rural and inner-city communities, because steady job creation is the best way to reduce the need for federal assistance.
Give tax credits to small businesses that hire in low-income rural and urban areas.
Expand rural broadband and improve access to capital so small businesses can compete.
Farmers
Replace random, ever-changing tariffs with a stable, fair-trade policy, so Pee Dee farmers can plan ahead.
Fight for fair market access and real investment in rural infrastructure, because our farmers are the backbone of this district.
Tourism and the Grand Strand
Stand up for the Grand Strand tourism economy and the hospitality workers who power it, especially when costs rise and Washington is nowhere to be found.
Protect the coastal resources that our tourism economy and our way of life depend on.
Schools and Training
Rebuild and fully fund the Department of Education with a focus on strong K-12 public schools.
Make vocational training, trade schools, and community colleges affordable and accessible, with tuition offset by a term of military service or by working in high-need communities.
