Testimony in Columbia Against State Bill 323
This morning in Columbia, John Vincent delivered powerful testimony against SC Bill 323 that every South Carolinian needs to hear. He appeared as a private citizen - not as a candidate - outraged by the hypocrisy and consequences of the bill. This video is from the Statehouse Steps (the video ends before the end of th speech).
His message is clear: This bill isn't about protecting life - it's political theater that will harm women and families.
The FACTS he shared about South Carolina are devastating:
• 7th-highest INFANT mortality rate
• Adolescent mortality 40% HIGHER than national average
• Ranked 3rd WORST state in which to have a child
• GUNS are the leading cause of child injury/death here
• 7th-highest MURDER rate in the nation
• 600 UNSOLVED murders since 2020
Yet instead of addressing these real threats to life, politicians are pushing a bill that will:
❌ Mentally and physically harm thousands of women
❌ Disproportionately punish women of color
❌ Lead to preventable deaths
❌ Do NOTHING to actually protect children
As Vincent said: "Anyone who supports this atrocity has no honor, no courage, and no commitment to the women and children of this state."
South Carolina deserves better. We need leaders who will tackle our REAL problems - not create new ones.
TAKE ACTION: Contact your representatives and demand they withdraw this harmful bill.
